Pspp For Mac

PSPP, the open source version of the famous SPSS, has some trouble importing files from Excel on a Mac.

  • PSPP is a powerful and versatile utility designed as a free alternative for the proprietary program SPSS and, as a result, it provides numerous tools and features that can help you in the.

Thank you for downloading PSPP for Mac from our software portal Each download we provide is subject to periodical scanning, but we strongly recommend you check the package for viruses on your side before running the installation.

The standard way of exporting from Excel and importing to PSPP is to save the data as a comma separated file (. csv) in Excel and then open that file in PSPP. What often happens is that PSPP will separate values by commas but does not use the newline data, resulting in one line which has all data points on different columns.

I have searched for solutions and the best I could find is using the free and open source LibreOffice. Simply open the Excel file in LibreOffice (either the .xls or .csv) and then save it as a .csv file. Even if it was already a .csv file this will save the file in a way that will work correctly with PSPP. Makes one wonder why you should use Excel in the first place

If there are other (better or easier) solutions please let me know.
